Mao Feng is a standard one bud-two leaves pluck harvested at spring this year. Fresh and vegetal, the name is literally translated as "fur peak" which refers to the downy covering of the slightly twisted young buds. It has a very minimal astringency typical of green teas and is noted for its smoother flavor and refreshing aftertaste.
Origin: Fujian
Benefits: Green tea contains the second highest amount of catechins and amino acids next to white tea, having undergone minimal processing of pan-frying the tea leaves. Catechins have been known to do wonders to our well-being as shown in various medical and scientific research. Regular intake promotes weight loss, helps prevent and fight cancer, maintains oral health, and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Note: High quality teas can be steeped for several more times. In the case of this high quality Oolong tea, it can be re-steeped three to four more times! Please do not leave the tea leaves steeping in the water. Remove it as soon as soon as you have achieved the desired strength to stop the brewing process. Of course, if you like your tea strong, you can steep it longer. Now, hold your cup and enjoy your perfect cup of tea!
